UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Flatland Band was formed back in late summer of 1980 when Sam Dean, Jerry Reno and Gordy Cotter got together to play for a wedding. Adding Bill Dunlap on drums completed the initial Flatland Band; Sam Dean(vocals and guitar), Jerry Reno (vocals and Bass) and Gordy Cotter (vocals and rhythm guitar) and Bill Dunlap (drums). Teresa Alred was added as vocals and flute. In the Spring of 1982, Barry Martin was added to play keyboards and guitar and sing. In the fall of 1982, Barry Martin moved on and was replaced by Dale Sorrells on keyboards and steel guitar. Also in 1982, The band cut their first album "Plainly Scene" spending almost every night from November '82 to March '83 in the studio in Springfield. At that time, Jerry and Sam were farmers, Bill was a body man, Gordy worked at Mobil Chemical and Dale was a mechanic and school bus driver.
